Mohs micrographic surgery is a highly effective surgical procedure for the treatment of certain skin cancers. Mohs surgery is recommended for treating high-risk lesions that are subject to high recurrence rates. Because of the expense, time consuming nature, and scarcity of specially trained Mohs surgeons, this procedure is typically not recommended for every form of skin cancer.
